The Progressive Forum (TPF) formerly known as the All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF) has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court stating the verdict is an affirmation of the people’s will as expressed at the polls.
In a statement signed by Interim Chairman Abuh Andrew, the TPF welcomed the apex court ruling, appealing to the opposition to join hands with the duly elected president to move the nation forward.
” We congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the affirmation of his victory by the nation’s apex court earlier today. Whilst it is within the purview of our statutes for electoral disputes to be adjudicated upon, we make bold to say the opposition embarked on a wild goose chase that was destined for a calamitous end.”
” It is our firm view that the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) had given an unassailable judgment that was considered well-researched and sound by legal luminaries and Nigerians alike, therefore, it didn’t come as a surprise to us that the Supreme Court unanimously upheld the ruling of the PEPT affirming the election of President Tinubu”.
” Now that the elections have been won and lost, with the final arbiter making its pronouncement in favour of our party, we call on the opposition to rally round the President in delivering on his Renewed Hope mandate and revamping the economy.”
” The time for politicking is over. The distractions of the past few months have been put behind us. We urge all Nigerians, irrespective of how they voted in the last elections to join hands with the Tinubu administration in steering the ship of state aright. We are confident that the temporary hardship being faced will soon give way to prosperity for all, as the reforms and plans of the administration come to fruition.” Abuh said.
The forum pledged its continued support for the APC-led government, emphasising it will be a beacon of fresh ideas and constructive advice, where necessary, to the Tinubu administration.
